Mixed Convection Over Rotating Bodies with Blowing and Suction

By: Material type: ArticleArticleDescription: 1309-1319 pISSN:
  • 0017-9310
Subject(s): Online resources: In: International Journal of Heat and Mass TransferSummary: The non-similar boundary-layer analysis of steady laminar mixed convection heat transfer from an axisymmetric body is extended and unified. Velocity profiles and temperature distributions in the attached boundary layers are studied for the entire range from pure forced convection to pure free convection. The validated computer simulation model is successfully applied to the case of mixed thermal convection of arbitrary Prandtl number fluids past a sphere with optional body rotation, fluid suction or injection, surface heating or cooling mode, and isothermal or constant-flux wall condition.
