Summary: Abstract : This report involves the performance evaluation of Anaerobic sequencing Batch Reactor (ASBR). ASBR process can be considered a suspended growth process with reaction and solid-liquid separation in the same vessel, much like that for aerobic sequencing batch reactor. It can compared with upflow anaerobic sludge blanket process. The success of ASBR depends on the development of a good settling granulated sludge. During the react period, intermittent mixing for a few minutes each hour is done to provide uniform distribution of substrate and solids. A critical feature of the ASBR process is settling velocity of the sludge during the settle period before decanting the effluent. Settling time used are 30 minutes.

Abstract :

This report involves the performance evaluation of Anaerobic sequencing Batch Reactor (ASBR).
