ABOUT THE AUTHOR<br/><br/>J I M M I E H I N Z E , a professor in the M. E. Rinker, Sr. School of Building Construction, has been at the University of Florida since 1996. In the prior twelve years, he was a professor of Civil Engineering in the University of Washington’s graduate program in construction engineering and management. He had previously served on the civil engineering faculty at the University of Missouri-Columbia for seven years. He received a B.S. and M.S. in architectural engineering from the University of Texas and a Ph.D. from Stanford University. He has been involved in various types of projects including residential, commercial, highway/heavy, and industrial construction. His experience stems from representing general contractors, design-build companies, and specialty contractors. He has been consulted on a variety of construction claims. His primary research interest included construction safety, worker productivity, and construction contracts. He is active in construction organizations such as ASCE, AIC, CIB, ASC, ASSE, CII, NCCER, and various contractor associations<br/> |
